Sweet Itch – Stop with a weekly cream

Sweet Itch is an allergic reaction to the saliva of biting midges (Cullicodes) and a type of black fly (Simulium Equinum).  Sweet Itch is a seasonal complaint that is worse when midges are most active between the months of April and early November, particularly on calm, humid days, biting mostly in the early morning and late afternoon.

Horse’s suffering from sweet itch will suffer from intense itching with hair loss, a thickening of the affected skin and flaky dandruff as the condition worsens. Weeping sores may appear with a yellow crust that can trigger a secondary infection if left untreated.

Itch Stop Salve Complete controls sweet itch to the point of 99% relief with just one application per week. This product will alleviate the scratch and rub cycle, disinfect and sanitise sores and effectively repel midges and other flying insects. Blended into a user friendly, lightly textured cream, all active agents when absorbed into the mane, tail and skin will work instantaneously, ensuring maximum protection. It is simple to apply, will not matt in the horse’s hair and is weather resistant.

If your horse or pony suffers from Sweet Itch please contact us and we can order in this cream.  Several of our clients have reported great success with its use.
