Feeding and Caring of Kittens Kittens

  • 6-8weeks of age: Still need small quantities of food frequently: at least four meals daily should be given.
  • Breakfast:- Skimmed milk with a small quantity of crushed breakfast cereals or rice pudding. Give about half a saucer full.
  • Lunch:- Hills all in one Feline Growth. This is a dry diet and all vitamins and minerals are included in this diet so there will be no need for supplements.
  • Tea-time:- Hills Feline Growth
  • Supper:- As breakfast

As the kitten grows, the total daily quantity is increased but the number of meals is decreased : 3 meals for a 4 month old and then 2 meals by 9 months of age.

Adult cats At 7 months of age change your cat onto Hills Feline Maintenance. Your cat is fed the maintenance diet until he/she is 7 years old and then onto a Senior diet. The diet changes with your animals life stages and requirements at these times. Please ask at reception for more information.

Fresh water should be available at all times.

The Pregnant and Nursing Queen: Hills Feline Growth

Vaccination: Kittens should be vaccinated against Feline Enteritis (Panleucopaenia), (Feline Influenza ( Cat Flu) and Leukaemia. Adults need annual boosters.

Neutering:- Spaying and Castration is generally done at around 6 months of age.
